FAQs

Q: What is the process for applying for a job with The Bozzuto Group?

A: You may apply online through our website or fax or mail a resume to our corporate headquarters. Email contacts and fax numbers are provided on each job posting, and throughout our website. We ask that you not come in person to the HQ office without an appointment. All applications and resumes are reviewed by our recruiting team, and qualified applicants may be invited to our corporate headquarters for an interview and job-related testing.

In person applications:  If you are interested in on-site maintenance positions with Bozzuto Management Company, you may apply in-person at the apartment community in which you are interested. You may obtain addresses through the website.

Q: How will I know my resume has been received?

A: We receive hundreds of resumes weekly, and cannot personally respond to each application. You should recieve an auto-response from our website if you apply online, or a postcard from us in response to resumes that are mailed in or faxed. If we are interested in speaking with you directly, our recruiting team will contact you directly by phone or email.

Q: Is testing required for all jobs?

A: We do require testing for some positions with our company, but not all. All testing administered will be relevant to the position. Maintenance personnel are tested in maintenance-related skills. Office/sales personnel may be tested in grammar, writing and mathematics. All candidates are given a personality assessment, although that tool is not a “test,” but simply a way to determine the natural traits and talents of each candidate to better match them to an appropriate position.

Q: What kind of background check is required for hiring?

A: After an application is received to be processed for hire, we check previous employment references, verify your legal right to work in the United States, and run criminal background checks in each state in which you have resided. If you will be driving a company vehicle, your driving record will also be obtained and reviewed. For certain on-site construction and landscaping positions, a simple drug screening may also be conducted.

Q: How long does it take to be hired?

A: Typically the time frame is two days to two weeks from the first interview, depending on the level of position and the number of interviews required. The more senior level positions will likely require more time than entry level positions.

Q: How many interviews are involved?

A: All those hired will likely have an initial screening phone interview and in-person interview (and potential testing) with our recruiting department as an initial step to the process. If you are viewed as best-suited to the role, they will engage in one or more additional interviews with the Managers responsible for the hire. We attempt to consolidate as many interviews as possible in one meeting, but frequently there are at least two visits with recruiters and executives at our headquarters.

Q: Are all positions Monday through Friday?

A: Most positions within our corporate headquarters are Monday through Friday. However, many of our on-site sales and customer service positions require some weekend work. Employees’ schedules are always adjusted to allow for days off during the week to compensate for weekend days worked, and to ensure a five-day work week.

Q: Do part-time employees receive benefits?

A: Most full-time Bozzuto employees receive benefits. Part-time employees do not receive benefits.

Q: Is there advancement potential with every position at The Bozzuto Group?

A: Advancement potential within The Bozzuto Group is truly unlimited. We have had talented employees earn more responsibility each year; starting at entry level and progressing to Executive level positions. Additionally, we often have employees transfer within our diverse organization, allowing them opportunities to grow their careers in a new field. We are proud to have so many long-term employees on our payroll, including some who have been with the company since its inception 20 years ago. Truly, opportunity is present at Bozzuto for those who are outstanding in their roles.

Q: How long do I have to wait to be promoted or move within the company?

A: This policy varies depending on the opportunities and the staffing needs, but typically you are expected to stay in your initial position for a period of one year. There are some exceptions to this, as workload shifts and opportunity arises. We handle those instances on a case-by-case basis.

Q: How much growth has there been in the company?

A: The Bozzuto Group’s focus has never been on rapid growth and expansion, but rather on being the absolute “best in the business” in accordance with our company mission. However, as our reputation has flourished and our company has been recognized again and again by the industry, new opportunities have continued to become available. In our 20 years of business, the company has seen a tremendous increase in revenues, employment opportunities and georgraphic coverage.

Q: What is the future of the company?

A: The founders and executives of The Bozzuto Group have always maintained their commitment to keeping the company viable and vital for the next 20 years or longer. We will continue striving for excellence in the residential and commercial real estate industry, while providing an outstanding place for our employees to work.
