Thomas S. Bozzuto

Chairman The Bozzuto Group

During Tom’s more than forty-year career, he has overseen and been responsible for the creation of nearly 50,000 residential units with a conservatively-estimated value of nearly $7 billon. In 1988, Tom established The Bozzuto Group of companies with John Slidell, Rick Mostyn and the late Bernie Lubcher. Today, the companies provide a broad range of real estate services, including development, management, homebuilding, acquisitions and construction. In his role as Chairman, Tom is an active member of the Investment Committee, oversees Asset Management efforts, plays a key role in securing equity for the company’s projects, and continues to have a dominant influence in maintaining and growing the corporate culture of the company. Prior to the formation of The Bozzuto Group, Tom spent thirteen years as Mid-Atlantic Regional Partner at Oxford Development Corporation. He also worked for the James W. Rouse Mortgage Company and, prior to that, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Renewal. A graduate of Hobart College, Tom has a Master’s degree in Metropolitan Studies from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. Tom’s community involvement includes serving as Vice Chairman of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ Board of Trustees, Vice President of The Walters Art Museum Board of Trustees, and on the boards of the Baltimore Community Foundation and Greater Baltimore Committee. He was also a Congressional Appointee to the National Millennial Housing Commission, Chairman of the Board of the National Multi Housing Council, Chairman of the Board of the Maryland Science Center, Chairman of the Citizens Planning and Housing Association, and twice a gubernatorial appointee to the Maryland Housing Commission. Tom was honored as recipient of ULI Washington’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Delta Associates’ Private Sector TrendSetter of the Year, and the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America’s Distinguished Citizen Award, and was inducted into the Maryland Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame. He and his wife of 45 years, Barbara, are the proud parents of Toby Bozzuto and Maria “Lexie” Green, and the grandparents of six extraordinary children.
