The Bozzuto Group and H&S Properties are partnering on a new apartment project in Harbor East that could have a price tag in the neighborhood of $100 million.

The Bozzuto Group of Greenbelt, MD and H&S Properties are looking to build a 291-unit apartment tower that would feature 49 condominiums and between 50,000 square feet and 60,000 square feet of retail. The building is projected to be 280 feet tall, according to Bozzuto president Toby Bozzuto.

"We don't want this to be just one of the best projects in Baltimore. We want it to be one of the best in the country," Bozzuto says. "The architecture's going to be absolutely stunning. I think it'll be one of the most beautiful buildings that we've ever been a part of."

The land for the building is a surface parking lot bordered by South Central Avenue and Lancaster, South Eden and Aliceanna streets, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

Negotiations between Bozzuto and the Paterakis family, a developer of properties in the Harbor East neighborhood and the owner of the H&S Bakery, began about a year-and-a-half. Bozzuto expects ground to break on project within the next 12 months. See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
