Baltimore Business Journal: Toby Bozzuto Named to Board Overseeing Md. Health, Higher Education Facilities
May 21, 2010
Baltimore developer Thomas “Toby” Bozzuto Jr. has been tapped to serve on a state commission overseeing health and higher education facilities.
Gov. Martin O’Malley appointed Bozzuto to a seat on the Maryland Health and Higher Education Facilities Authority. The son of Bozzuto Group CEO Thomas S. Bozzuto replaces Willard Hackerman, CEO of Whiting Turner.
The authority aids hospitals and universities in their efforts to construct, finance or refinance buildings on their campuses.
The younger Bozzuto is president of the Bozzuto Development Co. and his appointment was one of several announced by O’Malley Friday.
Other notable appointments were;
• Del. Ann Marie Doory to the state board of contract appeals;
• Louis Jay Ulman, an attorney with Offit Kurman, to chair the Maryland Racing Commission; and,
• Manuel Geraldo, president of Robinson & Geraldo Law Offices, to the Board of Airport Zoning Appeals.
