NAHB announced 64 finalists for the 2020 Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards, competing in 25 categories. Finalists were selected from 150 entries by a panel of 10 judges, comprising industry professionals from a variety of multifamily-related backgrounds.
Finalists exemplified the best in the multifamily industry, including creative amenities, desirable locations, high-performance building practices and rich designs. Judges also noted the need for many of these projects, especially within the affordable category.
“This community has made a significant impact for their residents and overall location in a very positive way,” one judge noted for a Best Affordable Development finalist.
Attention to detail was key for many projects, especially those with noteworthy views to take advantage of. Thematic décor, stunning finishes, historic elements, curb appeal and ample green space were also popular.
“Pillars entrants continue to raise the bar each year with their ingenuity and creativity,” said Barry Kahn, chairman of NAHB’s Multifamily Council and president of Hettig/Kahn Holdings Inc. in Houston. “This year was no exception, as new projects highlighted strength in community planning and architectural features, while affordable and adaptive reuse projects spotlighted creative ways to meet a community need in a meaningful way. We expect this to continue, especially as more residents are staying at home more and requiring more outdoor uses of space.”
Bozzuto has been recognized as a finalist for the following categories:
- Property Management Firm of the Year
- Best High-Rise Apartment Community: Liberty Harbor East
- Best Overall Leasing or Sales Campaign for a Multifamily Community: Liberty Harbor East
