Thomas S. Bozzuto Elected to Baltimore Community Foundation Board

(Baltimore, MD, 11/26/2012)  The Baltimore Community Foundation has elected Thomas S. Bozzuto of The Bozzuto Group to its board of trustees. Bozzuto has also joined BCF’s Neighborhoods Committee.

The Baltimore Community Foundation was established by community leaders in 1972 to provide a way for individual philanthropists to pool resources and work together to improve this region. Professional advisors such as attorneys, wealth managers and financial planners consider BCF a key partner in fulfilling their clients’ charitable interests. 

“Tom Bozzuto’s wealth of knowledge in real estate development, his long-standing interest in public policy, and his deep commitment to our community will be a tremendous asset to our board. Tom brings great insight to our work in Baltimore neighborhoods and our goal of providing safe, vibrant and green communities,” said BCF Chair Raymond L. Bank. “I’m delighted to welcome him as a trustee of BCF.”

Thomas S. Bozzuto is chairman and CEO of The Bozzuto Group, a group of real estate service companies he co-founded in 1988. Throughout his career, Bozzuto has created nearly 50,000 residential units for people of all income levels. Prior to the formation of The Bozzuto Group, he spent 13 years as a mid-Atlantic regional partner at Oxford Development Corporation. He also worked for the James W. Rouse Mortgage Company and, prior to that, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Renewal. Bozzuto is a congressional appointee to the Millennial Housing Commission and has served several terms as a gubernatorial appointee to the Maryland Housing Commission. He’s the current chairman of the board of the National Multi Housing Council. Bozzuto has a master's degree in Metropolitan Studies from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University and is a graduate and member of the board of trustees of Hobart College.
