Construction

Located within Washington, DC’s Brookland neighborhood, steps away from Catholic University and the Brookland-CUA Metro, the Monroe Street Market development created a community within a community—providing rental housing, retail, and maker-space. This LEED Certified project is a phased-in mixed-use redevelopment of Catholic University’s South Campus, which includes 562 apartment units across four parcels; three residential buildings and one Artist Flex building. Also included within these parcels is 77,000 square feet of ground-level retail over 278,000 square feet of parking (645 spaces); the “Arts Walk” with 27 ground-level artist studios; and The Edgewood Arts Building with 3,000 square feet of artist workspaces and designated areas for events and performances. The residential buildings consist of 16,000 square feet of amenity space including 24-hour fitness centers with yoga studios, cardio theaters, weights, an express gym, lounge, community rooms, and billiards.
