The Bozzuto Group Named Finalist in Seven Categories by the 2009 Pillars of the Industry Awards Program

Greenbelt, MD - January 28, 2009 - The Bozzuto Group today announced that the company and several of its properties received recognition as Finalist in seven categories from the 2009 National Association of Home Builders' [NAHB] Pillars of the Industry Awards. Considered the most prestigious national awards in the industry, the Pillars Awards honor excellence in multifamily development, design, marketing and management.

These honors represent the focus our company has put on developing, operating and marketing our properties and company with innovative and creative approaches," said Thomas S. Bozzuto's work was recognized with the following honors:

  • Finalist, Property Management Company of the Year: Bozzuto Management Company
  • Finalist, Best Garden Apartment Community: Arbors at ArundelPreserve
  • Finalist, Best Brochure for a Rental Community: Highland Park
  • Finalist, Best Property Website: Highland Park
  • Finalist, Best Overall Leasing Campaign for a Rental Community: Highland Park

In addition, two properties managed by Bozzuto Management Company - Upstairs at Bethesda Row and Highland Park - were named finalists in best project categories:

  • Finalist, Best Rental Apartment Community (Non-Garden): Upstairs at Bethesda Row
  • Finalist, Best Mid-Rise Apartment: Highland Park

The Highland Park brochure, website and leasing campaign was created by Merrick Towle of Beltsville, MD; Upstairs at Bethesda Row's developer/owner is Federal Realty Trust and Highland Park's developer/owner is Donatelli & Klein Development.

NAHB recognized these finalists among the top trend-setters in the multifamily housing industry, as part of its annual Pillars of the Industry Awards program promoting excellence in apartment and condo design, development, marketing and management. The Pillars of the Industry Awards are considered a showcase of future trends and innovation.

"This year's finalists represent the creativity of industry leaders who've combined beauty and high quality with an emphasis on what is most valuable to residents," said Steve Patterson, chairman of NAHB's Multifamily Leadership Board and CEO of ZOM USA in Orlando, Fla. "In the current economic environment, it is also extremely encouraging to see so many multifamily builders focusing on affordability and long-term sustainability."

Finalists were selected for superior achievement in 28 categories. These finalists were chosen on the basis of extremely selective criteria. Hundreds of entries-representing apartment and condo communities from across the country-vied for this year's awards, which are considered among the most prestigious in the housing industry.

Winners will be announced at the annual NAHB Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Conference and Awards Gala on March 18th at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.
