Baltimore Business Journal: Toby Bozzuto Named CEO of Bozzuto Group, Succeeding his Father

Toby Bozzuto is stepping into his father's role as chief executive officer of the Bozzuto Group.

The younger Bozzuto has succeeded Thomas S. Bozzuto. The move became official Tuesday. In his new role, Toby Bozzuto will provide both strategic and day-to-day leadership of the company and its more than 2,000 employees, and pursue growth of the company's four operating businesses.

Thomas Bozzuto, who retains his position as chairman, will focus on continuing his role on the company's investment committee, overseeing asset management and securing equity for the company's projects.

Toby Bozzuto, named one of the Ten Faces to Watch in 2015 by the Baltimore Business Journal, has been president of the residential real estate development company since 2013 and a partner since 2007 when he was also named president of the company's apartment-development arm. Since then, the Bozzuto Group has launched more new apartment projects than at any other time in its history, according to the company. Toby Bozzuto been with the company for 14 years.

"Under Toby’s leadership, we will continue to build upon our strong business relationships while always striving to create extraordinary experiences for all our customers.”

Toby Bozzuto said he shares his father's vision for the Greenbelt-based company, which developed the Union Wharf apartments in Fells Point and started construction in May on the $100 million Anthem House apartments in Locust Point.
