WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 31, 2020) — Bozzuto Management Company is proud to announce that it received the 2020 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership and superior contributions to ENERGY STAR.

For the fourth year, Bozzuto Management Company remains the first and only 100 percent multifamily management company to win this award. Bozzuto knows high-performance operations go hand-in-hand with their mission of providing sanctuary for their residents as well as financial returns for our clients. An ENERGY STAR partner since 2016, Bozzuto continued its strong commitment to integrating the tenets of the program across operations over the last year.

“Year over year, our residents have become increasingly focused on the environmental and social governance practices of the companies and brands they spend their hard-earned money on, including their apartment homes. The same focus extends to our clients and the cities and states in which we operate. We are proud of this recognition as it links our core principals to real outcomes and backs our record as an industry leader in all aspects of our business,” said Bozzuto Management Company Vice President, Sustainability Pete Zadoretzky.

In 2019 alone, Bozzuto Management Company:

  • Attained ENERGY STAR Certification at 23 managed communities
  • Developed its High-Performance Building Inspection offering that leverages ENERGY STAR Treasure Hunt
  • Promoted energy management best practices & ENERGY STAR participation through speaking events, print publications, job postings, community events and more

“I salute the 2020 ENERGY STAR award winners,” said Anne Idsal, EPA Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation (OAR). “These leaders demonstrate how energy efficiency drives economic competitiveness in tandem with environmental protection.”

The highest honor among ENERGY STAR awards is the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award. EPA presents the Sustained Excellence Award to partners that have already received ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition. Winners hail from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations—representing energy-efficient products, services, new homes and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
