Bozzuto Earns Spot on Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index for Second Consecutive Year

August 18, 2020

Recognized for Recruitment, Retention & Advancement as well as Company Culture Efforts for Underrepresented Groups

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 18, 2020) — Bozzuto has been named by Diversity Best Practices (DBP), a division of Working Mother Media, to the 2020 Inclusion Index. Bozzuto was one of only 98 companies to achieve a rating of 60 percent or higher, amongst several national and international Fortune 500 companies.

The DBP Inclusion Index is designed to assist organizations in understanding gaps in demographic representation and provide insight on how to drive internal change and solutions through proven best practices. Membership on the Inclusion Index gives recognition to Bozzuto’s consistent efforts and commitment to the three Index focus areas: Best Practices in Recruitment, Retention and Advancement; Company Culture; and Demographics/Transparency.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion continues to be a topic of critical importance, especially in these times of heightened racism and social injustice,” says Deborah Munster, vice president, Diversity Best Practices. “The good news is that corporate America is paying closer attention to its D&I practices, and I am proud to recognize the work our Inclusion Index companies are doing to elevate their efforts to drive a more equitable future.”

“As leaders, it is our responsibility to charge ahead and ensure that our actions meet our words. At Bozzuto, we not only emphasize best practices, but focus on the importance of listening and learning about what it means to support diversity and inclusion efforts fully for the benefit of our employees and the communities that we serve,” said Toby Bozzuto, president and CEO of The Bozzuto Group.

In alignment with Bozzuto’s core values—concern, creativity, passion and the pursuit of perfection—diversity, equity and inclusion are kept at the forefront of the business and every decision they make. The company’s efforts for greater diversity, equity and inclusion are intended to help employees better understand the experiences that shape each person as individuals, as well as build trust and allyships that will make the community stronger, connected and effectual.

In 2018, Bozzuto spearheaded significant industry-leading diversity and inclusion efforts and was recognized by the National Association for Female Executives as a Top Company for Executive Women. Additionally, Bozzuto president and CEO Toby Bozzuto became one of the first signatories for the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, the most significant CEO-led business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

Key findings from the 2020 Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index are:
