High Schools: Wilde Lake High School is a secondary school located in Columbia, Maryland's Village of Wilde Lake, and is one of 12 public high schools in Howard County. The school opened in 1971 as a model school for the U.S. and was Columbia's first high school. Atholton High School serves grades 9-12 in the Howard County Public School System district and is among the few public high schools in Maryland to receive a distinguished “GreatSchools Rating” of 10 out of 10. Lincoln Technical Institute is a technical training school that offers a wide variety of technical training programs in Columbia.
