Responsibilities
The Talent Acquisition team collaborates with hiring teams to ensure the company is recruiting and hiring top talent to join the organization and represent our brand to clients, residents, and prospective residents and employees. Based in Greenbelt, MD and reporting to the Director, TA Operations, the Pre-Employment Specialist is responsible for managing the final steps of the pre-employment process, specifically, facilitating completion of background checks, employment verifications and reference checks. Primary responsibilities include:
Managing the end-to-end pre-hire check process for candidates, e.g., background check, employment verifications and reference checks.
- Review and evaluate results from criminal background checks, employment verifications, and reference checks.
- Liaise with candidates to request additional documentation when necessary to support thorough evaluation.
- For pre-hire checks that don’t immediately pass Bozzuto’s criteria, escalate to TA/HR leadership and outside counsel when necessary, ensuring proper due diligence and documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and monitor service delivery.
- Upload pre-hire documents to applicant tracking system for all external hires.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of candidate documents.
Collaborating with a Talent Acquisition Coordinator responsible for executing the administrative steps of the pre-hire check process.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Coordinator to ensure timely initiation and completion of pre-hire checks.
- Review and ensure accurate completion of Pre-Hire Checklist.
- Utilize tools to enable transparency for TA team regarding status and/or delays.
What You Bring To Us
A./B.S. degree required, preferably in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Sociology, or Human Resources.2-3 years’ professional experience. Prior responsibilities including investigative or research duties, e.g., background screenings, compliance, recruiting operations.Prior experience in talent acquisition, recruitment operations, HR administration, or legal fields a plus.Strong analytical thinking skills, e.g., collecting, interpreting and synthesizing information to make recommendations.Experienced in handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity.Thrives in a high volume, fast-paced settings.Keen organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to effectively support and manage multiple priorities.Excellent communication (both written and verbal).Fluent in Spanish a plus.
