Bozzuto Recognized for Commitment to Advancement of Women to Leadership Roles by Working Mother Media and Catalyst CEO Champions for Change

December 9, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 9, 2020) — Bozzuto has been recognized for actively participating in initiatives that promote the development of the careers of women within the company. We are proud to join the exceptional efforts of some incredible companies that are a part of these initiatives.

In December, Bozzuto was named to the Working Mother Network’s list of the Top Companies for Executive Women 2020+. This initiative puts significant emphasis on best practices that demonstrate effectiveness in moving women to senior ranks, including mentoring, sponsorship, involvement in employee resource groups and leadership-development training. Additionallycompanies that are included in the list are measured and selected based on benefits and corporate culture, especially the involvement of the CEO and top leaders in advancing women.

Further highlighting the company’s efforts in equitable advancement, Bozzuto is a founding member of Catalyst CEO Champions for Change, a global nonprofit working with companies to help elevate women into leadership positions. This organization recently released its annual report, Towards a More Equitable Future: The Catalyst CEO Champions For Change, which outlines progress made by the Champion companiesexplores ways to measure the representation of women who identify with underrepresented ethnic and racial groups and provides a three-step plan to help organizations accelerate their journey toward equity. As the only real estate company that is a member of this initiative, President and CEO Toby Bozzuto is helping to lead our industry in creating workplaces that work for women and support diversity, inclusion and gender equity.

“It’s time to address the unique barriers women of color face in the workplace. It’s time for positive change. It’s time to make workplaces that work for everyone,” the report concludes. Bozzuto President and CEO Toby Bozzuto communicated this same sentiment earlier this year in the action plan he shared with his employee, stating This is an important moment in our history. This is a turning point, now is the time for action.

“Women, and particularly women of color, continue to face entrenched barriers to advancement in companies across the world, but it’s important that Catalyst CEO Champions For Change companies continue to demonstrate collective progress,” said Catalyst President & CEO Lorraine Hariton. “We know more work needs to be done, but the data show positive gains, and we’re proud to partner with these CEOs in this effort.”

As a company that believes in fostering a culture of kindness where employees can bring their whole selves to work, we are proud to be a part of these two organizations dedicated to accelerating and advancing women in the workplace.
